“Yeah, since all that.” How long had it been now? It felt as though it was just yesterday, and yet years ago at the same time. God, it didn’t really matter either way. It had happened, and there was no changing that. No forgetting. “That sounds like a good way to go about it. It’s hard to go out and about. There’s so many things that just… remind me of places.” She opened her mouth to continue, but fell silent and simply shook her head. Dana remained silent for a little longer before looking up at Marty and giving a small smile, “I think I’ll have to take you up on that offer some time. Company is good.”
He nodded his head as he listened to her speak, shoving his hands in his pockets. “I understand that. There are numerous things that remind me of … of them.” He said quietly, dropping his gaze. It was a wonder they had survived in the first place, yet that they had survived at all was miraculous in itself. He pursed his lips, trying not to think of his past and looked up when she spoke again, managing to give her a small smile. “You totally should. It’s nice and cozy… and underground. Best part is, you don’t have to worry about all those freaks trying to eat you.” He gave a small shudder. “I got food if you’re hungry too. It’s not much, but it works.”
“I was thinking maybe we could go on a roadtrip. Just the two of us. What do you think?” Marty grinned over at her, his eyes rimmed with red. He watched the smoke spiral in front of his face, letting out a small laugh as he offered her the joint.
“A roadtrip? Seriously, Marty?” Dana tried to understand his reasoning but the redhead had pretty much given up anything to do with reason when it came to him and his pot. “After all that happened…you want to go on a roadtrip? Where? Where would we even go? We’ve probably pissed off the rest of the world’s Gods in the process.” young woman tucked back some of her hair behind her ear and attempted to look tough but she was far from it.
Her nose wrinkled at the joint but shrugged her shoulders and swiped it with a deep inhale. Unfortunately for her it was too much and having not been used to it she started to cough.
“Ow.”
“Why not?” He asked, looking up at her. “We need to get out of this funk, Dana. I can’t stand to be in the same room with myself.” He said, shaking his head. He tried not to think about what had happened; just the thought of what they’d done was enough to send chills down his spine.
He watched as she took the joint, a thin smirk lifting his lips at the sound of her coughs. “Can’t handle the lady anymore?” He teased, his voice hinting a sense of humor. He took it from her, patting her back with his other hand. “You gonna live there?” He asked, moving so he could see her better.
“Peachy.” she replied and elbowed him playfully in the arm. “The one thing I can’t figure out is …if I was bitten by a werewolf…does that mean something?” her light gaze peered at his and tried to settle herself down in a mood to make some sense but that wasn’t exactly her forte right now. Not when all they seemed to see were demons and crazy ass things in boxes.
“What if that happens every year? We just started some serious shit.” but her worries seemed to fade when he mentioned that their lives had definitely changed and how awkward it was just to sit alone or even with each other after all they had been through. “All right, where would you like to go?” Dana threw up her arms in defeat and simply stared at him.
“You know I never got to sketch you? I think we need one huge picture of the coffee mug bong on the wall at least. That is even more entertaining than that sick two way mirror gimmick at the cabin.”
He glanced over at her, staring at her with mild confusion for the moment. He cleared his throat as his eyes gazed over the scars that lined her neck, chewing at his lip. “Well uh, I’d assume something would happen… I mean… You were bit… Not scratched or anything. You been feeling any kind of weird lately?” He asked, bringing the joint back up to his lips. He had wondered about that; maybe things were different than what they’d assumed with the werewolf.
He held in his hit and pursed his lips at her, finally speaking as he blew the smoke out. “Yeah well, welcome to hell right?” He asked, uttering a small chuckle. He licked his lips and offered her the joint again, half expecting her not to take it. “We never did find out how often this happened…” He narrowed his eyes, deep in thought.
When she spoke again, he glanced up at her, smiling. “Fuck if I know man, I just want to get out of here. Shit’s getting real weird anymore.” He said, shrugging his shoulders. “You still got a car?” He asked absently.
“Oh you wouldn’t want to sketch me.” He said with a low chuckle, cocking his brow. “You know, I still have that thing. Doesn’t work as well as it used to, obviously. But I still have it.” He couldn’t help but give her a cheesy grin.

“Hey Dana.”
“Marty… I, uh… Marty. Hey. It’s been a little while.”
“It has indeed. How have you been?” He asked, giving her a lopsided smile.
“Oh, just dandy. Bloody brilliant,” she replied with a roll of her eyes, before glancing over at Marty and giving a small grin.
“I’m still here. Can’t really complain, I guess. How ;’bout you?”
“Still so cocky little miss.” He let out a small chuckle, allowing his brows to cock upwards with a shrug of his shoulders. “I’m alive, aren’t I?” He asked, glancing over at her. He couldn’t push away the feeling that bubbled in his gut; he missed her. He had the urge to run forward and pull her close, but resisted it and stood rooted to the spot. “Where uh, where have you been?”
“You bet. It’s in my nature.” It was also a fairly good defence mechanism. Sarcasm had a lot of uses, and it did let her express herself without too much hassle. “Yeah, you are.” Dana nodded and gave a smile, though there was little warmth there as her thoughts drifted away. Was it a good thing to still be alive? After all that had happened, after all that was out there? Well, damn, she shouldn’t focus on that. Her energy should be on Marty, and god was she happy to see him. “I’ve been traveling I guess. Trying to keep busy. What about… About you? ..I uh, I missed you, you know.”
He cocked a brow at her, shoving his hands into his pant pockets. “I missed you too Dana. It’s been way too long.” He nodded his head and managed to give her a goofy smile. “I’ve managed to stay secluded underground since… since all that.” He said quietly. “Keeping mostly to myself, barely ever venturing outside. I’m glad I did today though. I would have completely missed you.” He let out a dry chuckle and shifted on his feet. “You’re always welcome in my little hole in the ground if you ever need somewhere to stay.”
